I think I'm gonna do laundry tonight.
Did this earlier.
I'm making chili.
Doing this tomorrow.

Also add: bought a bunch of crap I didn’t need off amazon, played a bunch of my kid’s video games, read a bunch of odd posts and things, attempted to play guitar (before remembering that I suck at it and putting it down), even attempted to listen to Felger and Mazz before remember that that also sucks and shutting it off.

IM GOING STIR CRAZY AND ITS NOT OK

I continued my job search, did some laundry, cleaned up the apartment, read a bit, knocked out some podcasts...all in all a productive day.

Made chili Sunday night on the Instantpot that’s from the thread in TBLTS. Eating that throughout the week. Laundry is a tomorrow task due to laziness. May pour a glass of one of the Japanese whiskeys my brother got me for Xmas. Not sure if I’ll stay up long enough to watch the most recent episode of the Challenge.

Peter Rabbit looks like a decently funny movie. Extended preview was good enough in theaters.

Had the food tasting for my wedding tonight. A buffet with filet mignon, panko crusted chicken meal and other options is good times. Now, food coma.

Think this will be a Peaky Blinders week without the B’s. The worst part of the bye week is they’re coming back on Saturday basically opposite the Pats.

I got into Bojack during the snow storm. Finished season 1 and really enjoying it. This and a very, very slow period of work will allow me to watch more episodes this week. Yay.

Really good through two seasons. Season 3 has been interesting... seems a bit scatterbrained through episode 3 and change, but I'm guessing it all comes together.

Sabini reminded me way too much of Fred Armisen's character in Eurotrip

Also, between the plethora of Nick Cave songs and the "Lazarus" by Bowie intro in S3E5 the soundtrack alone has been worthwhile

Yeah, this flu or whatever is the worst. I started feeling bad Dec 13ish. Was finally "okay" by Christmas or so but I'm still fatigued and am coughing now and then, especially after talking or eating. Fuck me.

My daughter got really sick this week. 3 visits to docs in past 24 hours. One urgent care. I probably have strep or something but am so focused on her I don’t care about me. She got a cold about two months ago and was fine. This has been awful. I celebrated like I won the Cup just because I got her to drink a few ounces of water and milk today.

I’m sick of this bullshit winter. I’m finally starting to understand the snowbirds like my father.

My entire house got the flu over the last two weeks. Started with my 2 year old who had a temp for 7 days SEVEN DAYS. Then me and my 4 year old got it, temp lasted 4 days for me and my 4 year old is on day 7. My wife finally started getting it over the weekend and it finally cleared today.

These temps are no joke either. My 4 year old was at 102.7 this morning when we woke up... On day 7!

Yeah, we were both in the 102s at peak. I responded by feeling cold and wearing layers and getting under afghans and still getting chills. She responded by feeling hot and wanting fans running. Funny thing, fevers.

I said this to someone about something unrelated earlier today but it holds up here - I don't know how you parents do it. I get sick and I'm miserable but I can just nuke some soup or eat crackers or whatever. I can't imagine trying to take care of a child while I/it is sick. And 102 is bad enough for an adult but for a kid? Shudder.

That’s brutal, man. I feel for you. My daughter has been up and down. She hit 103.5 and we freaked a bit. Doctor was like no big deal. Call me when she goes over 104. Umm, ok?

I just got her to take her amoxicillin without her puking it up. They will write stories about this triumph.

And Nap, I haven’t known true fear until I had a child. It’s terrifying when they are this little and this sick. She’s my first so maybe by the second I won’t worry as much.

Kids are amazing. A couple years ago my oldest hit 105 due to an ear infection and we were terrified. When we got to the ER the doctor pretty much told us kids can run in the 105/106 range, but if it were you or I, it would kill us.

Ibuprofen is a wonder drug.

I enjoyed this article, it's something I've always thought about, especially for linesmen. Helps pass the time during the bye week!

http://www.espn.com/nhl/story/_/id/21958387/nhl-how-nhl-refs-stay-shape-keep-today-faster-stronger-players
This was a very good article, thanks.

I'd watch the hell out of a "Behind the Stripes" show where they follow a couple guys through training camp then for a month or 2 of the season. Mic them up for games with a helmet cam, show the pregame routines, talking to coaches/Tornoto, some game highlights, etc. Couple candid shots of them traveling, washing their gear in hotel laundry rooms. A clip or 3 of the home life.
Then do it again with a couple other guys for a couple months.
Then *really* do it during the playoffs.

Who wouldn't want to watch that instead of the 4th re-airing of last night's On The Fly?

Ooooh, we're doing sick kid stories! Mine started puking Monday afternoon. We held her out of daycare Tuesday and my wife stayed home with her, but she was basically fine from Monday evening until Tuesday after noon when BAM! Diarrhea. Annihilated 2 pairs of underwear and our bathmats since after the first bout, my wife let her run around in her undies. This was so she wouldn't get shit on any of her dresses and freak the fuck out. This little girl loves her dresses.

Seems to clear up, no problems in the evening, none overnight. Send her in Wednesday. No problems at school. Comes home in the afternoon and wet shits herself again, but just once and no other symptoms. Probably just that her guts have been cleaned out and she needs some probiotics and binding foods or something.

7 AM Thursday rolls around and she kicks in our door complaining that her tummy hurts. She crawls into bed to snuggle with me and rips some farts, so I figure, gas pains. Give her time to get it out, let her moan and roll around in bed with me while I make soothing sounds and rub her back, then send her in to school once it's passed.

Fuck no, not happening. 8 AM, she sits up, gags once and then goes vomit zombie all over our sheets and pillows. I basically dive out of bed to avoid the oncoming storm. It's brown like poop. She gets it on her dress and freaks about that. I strip the dress while reassuring her we can wash it, it's not a problem, you'll be fine and trying not to gag at the smell. Throw some towels down on her bed (too young for the bucket method and no way she makes the head), tell her to puke on those if she has to and relax, I'll come and snuggle you after I put our sheets in the dryer.

Now I'm carefully gathering up puke-filled sheets in bunch so that the puke doesn't leak out onto my floors and sanitizing our mattress while this little kid IS FUCKING SINGING "LET IT GO" AT THE TOP OF HER DAMN LUNGS.

I crawl into bed with her, she spends ten minutes kicking me in the groin until falling asleep until 9:15, then she is fine the rest of the day.

Kids, man.

I’ll take that over cleaning up someone else’s poo. Plus I’ll have my cats, who will in turn eat me after I die.

It's the small price to pay to not have to die alone and dead inside.
No. It’s a huge, enormous price to pay for that.

That said, your kids are fucking adorable so I can’t say you made the wrong choice.

Let it go seems appropriate for that story. Your kid has a well developed sense of humor.
There is a significant chance it was intentional. She is a bigger troll than Nip and Corp combined.

It's the small price to pay to not have to die alone and dead inside.
Plus when they get old enough, they do the housework for you.

I’ll take that over cleaning up someone else’s poo. Plus I’ll have my cats, who will in turn eat me after I die.

Us parents need to tell ourselves lies sometimes to get by, let me have that.
Sell me those sweet, sweet lies, I need 'em to get by.
