Hmmmm...

Bills cornerback Tre'Davious White suffered a concussion when Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowskiblindsided him with a cheap shot that resulted in Gronkowski getting a suspension. But while Gronk issued a public apology, he hasn’t issued a private one.

White said today on PFT Live that Gronkowski never apologized to him. White said he doesn’t know if Gronkowski will say anything to him when they face each other on Sunday, but at this point White is ready to move on.

“I’ll just line up and play football,” he said.

As already noted from a comment on Tuesday, on the prior page, he said the following:

"Bills CB Tre'Davious White to SiriusXM NFL Radio on Tuesday about Rob Gronkowski: "As I've had time to think about it, I knew he wasn't that type of player. We just honed in and moved on from it. But I get the film Sunday and the best way that I can handle that situation and just try to go in there and just get a big old ‘W' in their stadium and try to help our playoff chances. So yeah, I'm not a guy who's going to try to do a cheap shot after the whistle. Nothing. I'm gonna play the game the way it's supposed to be played. Respect the game and just like I said, going in there and winning would be the best revenge."

Bills are in playoff hunt. Officials are gonna be vigilant. They’d have to be pretty dumb to do something.

Agreed. And the Bills defenders could quite logically — and perfectly legally — go low on Gronk, just to make a tackle, and if Gronk is hobbled people will react here as if they are being anally violated. It’s an unwinnable battle not amenable to reason.

My 2 cents — Gronk probably should have called personally the guy he buried. That’s good form.

But I expect no retribution outside the rules but no favors within the rules. Bills not obligated to hold back.

Gronk on the Guerrero story: "It hasn't impacted my preparation at all." He also says he's still working with Guerrero and still doing the TB12 diet.

I still think Gronk was the "starter" Bedard referenced in his story.

Then Guerrero is right. There's really not a ton of reason for any football player to do squats, especially one with a history of back issues.

I disagree with the point on any football player doing squats. Squats are a core lift for football players along with power cleans. But, I agree with the point that Gronk should not be doing them with his history of back problems. There's other ways of getting lower body strength.

Squats are absolutely a great lift, and I should be more specific in that it depends how they're being done and with what weight and volume, but there's absolutely a point where whatever very marginal increase in performance you'll get from a lift doesn't outweigh the injury risk.

For example, when I boxed, my trainer would never let me flat barbell bench press, unless it was like 135 with bands for speed work. I'm sure I hit a bit harder when I could bench in the 3's than in the 2's, but whatever tiny increase in punching power that resulted in wasn't worth the wear and tear on my shoulders.

I think a lot of S&C coaches are following this line of thinking these days, combine training aside.

Tier 1

90 percent - not happening
80 catches - 64 now - going to take a monster last 2 games - edit... sorry he's averaging 5.3 this year would need 8 average next two so not as bad as I thought at first. Did it 3 times this year (8,9,9)
1200 receiving yards - 1017 - doable as he's averaged 84.8 in games he played. He needs to average 91.5 to get it (he's done this 3 times this year >90)
14 TDs - 7 - would need monster last two games (best is 2 and he's done it twice)
All-Pro - (shrugs) but is definitely in contention if not front runner

So it's 1200 or All-Pro for him.
So with a 5 catch, 67 yard, and 1 TD performance.

90 percent - not happening
80 catches - 69 now. Gronk likes. Monster 11 catch game needed. Has not hit double digits this year
1200 receiving yards - 1084. Needs 116 yards. Still his best bet that doesn’t rely on a vote
14 TDs - 8 - just needs an insane 6 TD game
All-Pro - (shrugs) but is definitely in contention if not front runner

Again, I think they give him it all anyways. They’ve been good about that and I feel the incentives were basically ‘don’t break anything and give us value for the year’. He’s done that. Hey s done it in the past with guys and been loyal to them. I’m not sure exactly what the cap implications would be for next year but I’m sure they can work around it or restructure if need be.

Oh the delicious hot takes that could be produced if the writers realize they can effectively fine Gronk millions of dollars for that late hit.,,

Gronk should be first team All-Pro if shit like BLOCKING matter when evaluating a tight end.

Kelce plays a shitload of snaps solit wide at that.

But COUNTING STATS.

im assuming they give it to him. Cap implications is a simple extra 2 million or so as I think that is the difference between the last tier and this one but I don’t remember off the top of my head.

I’m just following this to see how he does.

Yes, but let’s take the cap space instead. It’s looking like a decent shot his suspension cost him millions, I’d say his most likely shot is the yards marker. I don’t think they’ll just give it to him, especially given the suspension.

Counting stats aren't too much in Kelce's favor anyway. A bit yes, but not overwhelming--14 catches.

Fewer yards, same amount of TDs.

Gronk will be All-Pro, no writer can possibly say that there is another TE that opposing defenses need to game plan for more than Gronk. If he isn't seeing double coverage he creates havoc, they constantly need to shade a safety or rotate another defender to him or chip him at the line and slow pass rush. He creates issues I've never seen a TE create, so glad he's a Patriot - Tony Gonzalez was the closest I can remember.

on mobile so don’t have full stats. PFT has him needing 111 yards so I might have screwed up some math somewhere. Still. 111 or 116 is a very doable number for Gronk.

In a normal game? Maybe. Ironically, if Gronk has a monster first half, Bill might pull him and/or Brady with the game wrapped up.

Darn, Lose beat me to it.

If there was doubt in writers minds I would guess the Pitt game ended all of them. As that tweet by a media person after the Pitt game said: "Perhaps the greatest 5 CONSECUTIVE plays, by a non-QB".
I think those 5 plays locked up All-Pro for him.

Adam Harstad (excellent Fantasy Football analyst) with a Twitter truth-bomb thread on the greatness of Gronk this season:

How “receptions” can be deceiving: Travis Kelce has 14 more receptions than Rob Gronkowski… but Gronkowski has 2 more first downs.

Receptions are useful only insofar as they’re a proxy for first downs. From an offense’s standpoint, receptions don’t matter but first downs are vital.

Typically the more receptions a player has, the more first downs he’ll have, too. But this is mitigated by yards per reception- deeper passes means more first downs per reception.

And given that Gronkowski actually leads all NFL players in yards per reception since 2015… (gonna pause to let that marinate a bit)… his reception total badly underestimated his first down total.

The point of this is that, while Rob Gronkowski's conventional statistics are amazing, they *actually undersell his greatness*. Because he's also dominant at everything that helps an offense but doesn't show up in the stat sheet.

Consider maybe my favorite stat of 2017: Rob Gronkowski has drawn 126 yards on DPI calls. EVERY OTHER TE IN THE NFL COMBINED has earned 412 yards on DPIs. Rob Gronkowski accounts for 23.4% of all DPI yardage gained by a tight end this year. This is real life.

And as anyone who has watched him play can attest, that 126 yards in DPI penalties is just a fraction of what Gronk should have. He's basically like J.J. Watt with offensive holding-- the refs could call interference on him on nearly every play.

He’s on a Brady-like level of “just watch as good as you’re ever going to to see while you still can.” Even when he spends the better part of a half being double and triple-covered before getting pulled to rest up for another glorious postseason run.

Because tide pods are potentially fatal if swallowed, and apparently kids are daring each other to bite/eat them.

Edit: they are super concentrated. They can cause chemical burns, but they also can cause death by aspiration. I had a puppy eat one one, and within hours he was vomiting up suds. He then breathed the suds into his lungs, thus filling them up with suds. Children and pets essentially drown in soap. It’s awful.

Heck, just scroll through the responses to the Tide tweet to see all the evidence you need. It's a meme.

It just became a meme overnight. People pretending to use tide pods as snacks, baking pizzas in the oven with tide pods as a topping, there’s even a video of a kid smoking a tide pod out of a bong.

People will do anything for a few likes on Instagram.

So wait—you’re saying that if I want to get likes on Instagram i should eat a TidePod?
