You know I wouldn't rule out the team moving but I guess it depends on who buys them. Forbes had it valued at $2.3B in 2017 btw so yes he is going to get paid.He is a racist, sexist piece of shit. Would be nice to have a decent owner here in Carolina but I’m not holding out too much hope.
In all seriousness, why wouldn't Panthers fans try to crowdsource the funding, and put a really good GM in?I'll match your bid and we could be co owners.
I thought the NFL had a rule against that because the league does NOT like the Green Bay situation. In all seriousness, why wouldn't Panthers fans try to crowdsource the funding, and put a really good GM in?
Hmmm. I'll bite -- why doesn't the league like the GB situation? I can imagine the NFLPA wouldn't like it due to the fiscal responsibility that would be needed which might restrain player salaries, but why the NFL?I thought the NFL had a rule against that because the league does NOT like the Green Bay situation.
Community owned teams can’t move. Thus they can’t threaten to move as a means to extort their local governments to get hundreds of millions in stadium funding.Hmmm. Is there any precedent for crowdsourcing $2+ billion? I'm asking seriously. Seems like a shit ton of money but what do I know.Hmmm. I'll bite -- why doesn't the league like the GB situation? BINGO!Community owned teams can’t move. Thus they can’t threaten to move as a means to extort their local governments to get hundreds of millions in stadium funding.
Perhaps. But an ESPN article mentions that he had a plan in place to sell the team 2 years after his death. Maybe someone convinced him to sell the team rather than go through the investigation, esp given his age.So what the hell else must have that”investigation” uncovered? No way in hell this guy gets pushed out over talking about ladies jeans ...
I believe Green Bay, due to the coop ownership structure, has to publish at least some of the financial data which the league would rather keep secret.Hmmm. I don't think the NFL is looking to relocate the Panthers. Whoever buys them, they're staying put. What area of the country needs a team but doesn't have one and money to burn?
Yeah I would agree. Just like to tease out potential alternative outcomes.I don't think the NFL is looking to relocate the Panthers. Whoever buys them, they're staying put.
At first I thought the head looked photoshopped, but man... we can only imagine what tributes to himself he'd erect if his team had won more than two conference titles in 23 years. That statue looks real. He really put a statue of himself in front of the stadium? I hope Kraft never sees that.
One of the few times in which he has directly intervened in football matters came in the 2014–15 offseason, when he refused to re-sign player Greg Hardy in the wake of domestic violence charges. Despite requests from players and coaches to let Hardy have another chance, Richardson said that he made the decision not to do so because "we do the right things."[6]
2nd BINGO of the thread. Whenever GB publishes their financials, everyone is able to get an idea of how profitable NFL franchises actually are; it's not hard to project the P&L of other teams from Green Bay's financials. The other owners hate this; they prefer to claim "losses" in order to keep the NFLPA at bay.I believe Green Bay, due to the coop ownership structure, has to publish at least some of the financial data which the league would rather keep secret.
I believe there are also some public filings that have to be made by the Packers that the NFL would prefer never see daylight.Community owned teams can’t move. Thus they can’t threaten to move as a means to extort their local governments to get hundreds of millions in stadium funding.
You should start a GoFundMe page. I'll chip in if you promise to change the shade of blue on their unis to Carolina blue.He is a racist, sexist piece of shit. Would be nice to have a decent owner here in Carolina but I’m not holding out too much hope.
Well it certainly doesn’t look like it has hurt the NFL at the bargaining table2nd BINGO of the thread. I never claimed that the NFL's stance was justified. But perhaps things would have been worse for the players had GB's P&L not been public, but that is of course unknowable. But there are some owners that are supposedly pissed at Kraft for "caving" during the last series of negotiations, despite the fact the CBA had almost everything the owners wanted.Well it certainly doesn’t look like it has hurt the NFL at the bargaining table
Would not be surprised in the slightest if some other market were floated, just to drive the price up.I don't think the NFL is looking to relocate the Panthers. Whoever buys them, they're staying put.
Fuck yes! Such a great day for progress. She’s earned it. Even on an interim basis.
Carolina Panthers news: owner Jerry Richardson is stepping aside from day to day control immediately to focus on team sale. Tina Becker, 20 year employee, will be COO with full control of organization effective immediately..
