“Defense wanted no part of the competition ... secondary did not try ... giants allowed fifty — 5-1 points, 50! This is the GIANTS!”

He is ok if they pull Eli

How would you ever take a salary for that game! Give it to charity ... this is an embarrassment

Have to give Mike his due ... he is the master of rants ... no one else is close and no one may ever approach him.

He is benefitted by the City, of course ... but he is a genius channeling the aggrieved, blue collar fan sensibility ... and the audience always runs with it. The calls should be epic today

Blue collar/white collar or no collar

anyone watching that game understands the G-men took the collar yesterday

they quit in that game.

and that rightly piss off fans.

Well considering it's never Eli's fault for anything, is this really a surprise?
Francesa does defend Eli, but he has cooled his ardor over the past year or so, and no longer gives an unqulified "yes" when asked if Eli's a HoF QB.

I don't think this season or yesterday's game is on Opie. He played poorly but IMO he got no O-line, no receivers and now the D (supposedly one of the best in the NFL) has quit/in semi-open revolt.

And the coach? He looks for scapegoats (Eli) and seems to play favorites (OBJ) that sends all sorts of mixed messages, and has seemed to FUBARed the G-Men.

Off to the races, even mentioned that his driver - a rabid Niners fan - remarked that the Giants could not lose to SF.

Calling for Jenkins to be dumped, and McAdoo fired mid-year. 'Don't want to look at it anymore.'

'Lucky they didn't leave him on the tarmac.'

'I don't wanna hear from anyone on that defense.'

'Niners QB coulda played in a tuxedo yesterday...Giants linemen were BACKING UP as he ran into the end zone.'

Top form.

Statement from John Mara — we are not clipping the coach during the season. Period. EOS.

deep inside Guido territory
Towards the end of the show I was driving home and almost veered off the road when he said this. He said Travis Kelce is the premier pass catching TE in the NFL. Not just once, but he said it again about 10 minutes later when talking about how great the KC offense is. Never mind the fact that Gronk in a down year production wise still averages more YPC than Kelce and has as many TDs.

This is why Mike is a master troll. Even while you are hate listening to his fan rage, he can still get you to take the bait.

This is, of course, nonsense, and for no particular reason (and this happened with Graham a few years ago) ignored half of Gronk's value.

In other words, expert troll

Simms turned them down? The Kim Jones and Adam Schien turned them down? I really wants Kim. Simms would have been a never. Well, looks like no WFAN afternoon time for me, bummah.

Well played... Dog!

This is a bad sign for sports radio. Is this the best you can get? Minus Kim Jones, the rest of the turn downs are garbage (Sid?) that are best left to cable. Who is the Adam Schein fan? Is the background on his CBS SportsNet show designed to cause seizures? Yet, the background is still better than anything he's ever said.

The real question to answer is what is next for Mike. He's not retiring.

A pretty motley roster to select from aside from Jones who is terrific. I'd rather they move Joe & Evan into that slot than this 3 headed garbage monster.

I had heard Kim Jones turned down the job and was a little surprised that 1) she was offered it and 2) she said no. I thought she was pretty good and usually pretty well informed, and articulate. Chris Simms is terrible.

Carlin, Bart and Maggie.

just flows off the tongue.

3 in a booth?

Because that format works so well.

It might be fun to see the internal battles and backstabbing to see which of the 3 gets squeezed out/pushed our first.

I wonder if the success Kay and the 2 other guys has opposite of of Francesa is leading them to the 3 person booth? Radio is a real copycat industry.

I appreciate they're trying to set up a more diverse show (in terms of color/gender but also in terms of topics that each of the hosts is interested in), but...Bart fucking Scott?

Russo ripped into Scott today: https://nypost.com/2017/11/15/mad-dog-russo-goes-after-one-francesa-replacement/

“Bart Scott urinated on the media, from what I remember, when he was a member of the Jets,” Russo said. “He urinated on ’em. Oh my God did he urinate. And now he’s doing afternoon drive on the biggest sports talk show station in America as a member of the media? It’s a little spotty, let’s be honest.”

Russo questioned if Scott knew anything about non-football sports and took issue that he wasn’t from New York.

“He’s not from here. He doesn’t know anything about New York,” Russo said about the Detroit native. “… And he wasn’t that great a linebacker. He was OK. He was a pretty good player, he wasn’t a great player. He thinks he’s a Hall of Famer. He was a decent player. By the way, got demoted from CBS, the ‘NFL Today’ got him out of there. From what everybody tells me, he didn’t work hard enough.”

Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary is doing Francesa now as the station is doing a station wide hunger-thon fund raiser today, and its unintended funny. Yarrow wants to talk about serious issues (like hunger in America, inequlality of income, etc) and thinks he's got an unlimited time, while Francesa is pushing for fast stories and Puff the Magic Dragon.

its worth a listen (about 10 minutes) if it gets posted. on WFAN
