First game of the year for me, and I know it has yet to produce a goal tonight, but I'm really enjoying Cassidy's version of the PP. I feel like too often with Julien the team only took the "perfect" shot. How often did the PP go 2 min without a shot last year?

Scoring chances goes off Krejci's skate at one end, then he ends up in the penalty box down the other end.

Great play and finish on that by Marchand. But damn did Duchense dog it on that back check.
He picked up the trailer and let the D take Marchand. He was a little late in signaling that to the D though. Allowed Marchand to get enough space to get the shot off.

I keep telling myself, "We expected early season struggles with this young team."

I didn't expect them to look awful against fucking Colorado, though.

Sooo maybe having an entire lineup of rookies wasn’t the way to go.

I know you B fans are frustrated, but I think my Avs will be better than expected. In other words, I don't think these losses are quite as bad as they seem now
Well yeah. It's a young team that is trying to find their way after only 3 games. I'm a bit disappointed in the defense, though. They are pretty much what we saw at the end of last season and their level of play right now is unacceptable.

I don’t think the D has been too bad. The mistakes seem to primarily be poor decision making when pinching at the offensive blue line. Those mistakes have resulted in 3-4 goals against so far. That should hopefully be ironed out over time as they get more comfortable in Cassidy’s system. He wants them to be aggressive, but they have to find the right line.

They’ve given up 13 goals in 3 games. 3 ENGs. 3 on the PP, 1 SH. Of the 9 remaining goals against, 3 have come off odd man rushes where the B’s had a D pinch at a poor time, a 4th was the Rask fiasco trying to play a puck out by the half boards. I don’t think they’re running around in their own end a lot (other then McQuaid).
