Blount? That Raiders offense is going to be scary. Assuming they get a decent RB.
Entirely possible. I'm afraid they'll go after Mixon... The kid screwed up hard 3 years ago but the talent is undeniable. Has Raiders move written all over it.Blount?
I like Jared Cook, even wanted the Pats to target him...but a "huge" addition? Really?Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet 12m12 minutes ago
Source: The #Raiders are going to sign FA TE Jared Cook. A huge addition for QB Derek Carr and their offense.

http://justblogbaby.com/2015/11/17/mark-davis-talks-zero-tolerance-on-domestic-violence/“We have zero tolerance,” Davis told Killion on the topic of domestic violence. “To make it more Raiders-like, let’s say double zero tolerance, like Jim Otto’s number.”
“I’ll lead by example,” Davis said. “I’ll continue to speak if someone asks. I think this is a very, very serious situation. But the thing I can deal with is our own organization.”
“It’s just something we can’t tolerate. I don’t know how to fix it in society but I know we can’t have it on our team.”

Mark Davis said there is zero chance a player with a DV history will be on the team due to the team's public and financial commitment to Fred Belitnikoff's foundation. Belitnikoff's daughter was killed by an abusive ex-boyfriend.

Aldon Smith? I know he's on really thin ice but why haven't they cut ties since his DV incident? That's an Al Davis move. Dude was a mountain and a decent player. Although Chris Snee might have been even stronger. I once saw him doing bench reps with 4 plates on each side when at BC.Gosder Cherilus, who was part of that Matty Ice BC team and maybe the strongest man I've ever met, retired yesterday:

Very well might've been. Gos once gave me a friendly slap on the back so hard I saw that flash of blue you get when someone punches you square in the temple; Snee I never met.Dude was a mountain and a decent player. Not to get too personal, but exactly how many times has that happened to you?Very well might've been. Gos once gave me a friendly slap on the back so hard I saw that flash of blue you get when someone punches you square in the temple; Snee I never met.
Professionally, a fair amount. Not to get too personal, but exactly how many times has that happened to you?
That "NOOOOooooo!" howl you hear is coming from Brandon Marshall.Adam SchefterVerified account @AdamSchefter 39m39 minutes ago
Former Jets QB Geno Smith scheduled to take his physical with Giants this weekend, and if it goes well, he would sign Monday, per source.
Saw that. I don't understand what purpose that serves, at all. If this is a player safety issue, I could probably get behind a no-OT rule in the NFL and just allow ties.Competition committee discussing shortening regular season overtime from 15 minutes to 10 minutes.
Maybe to increase urgency to take chances to score a TD and win?Saw that. I don't understand what purpose that serves, at all. If this is a player safety issue, I could probably get behind a no-OT rule in the NFL and just allow ties.
Yeah, probably. Shortening OT is going to make it less likely that there's a "fair" conclusion, not more.I'm sure the main purpose is not to screw up network TV schedules.
...which smells a bit, doesn't it?We can also assume that Colin Kaepernick has almost no chance of getting a job.
many backup and third-string NFL quarterbacks suck ... several suck more than Kaepernick. But when you suck AND were the center of a controversy, getting a job is that much more difficultWell, he also kinda sucks.
I think the point stands though - reality is, the type of controversy matters. CK got way more shit from the base NFL fanbase for kneeling during the anthem than many athletes who commit domestic and family violence and are actually suspended do, and as a consequence teams are more reluctant to carry that baggage going forward.many backup and third-string NFL quarterbacks suck ... several suck more than Kaepernick. Oh, I agree. But Cam Newton or Drew Brees would still be employed ... even had they taken the same actions as KaepernickI think the point stands though - reality is, the type of controversy matters. I think most teams are waiting to see what the draft will bring them.kap is done and so is cutler
but IDK why A P is still on the market if i was green bay i wouild give him a 2y/5mil deal
It stinks to high heaven. I am not a huge fan of Kaep's stated political positions, but they absolutely should not cost him a job and it is a cowardly business decision by NFL owners and GMs considering that guys like Pacman Jones or Brandon Marshall, who are not hardened criminals, nor superstars, but who are a pain in the ass, can get jobs. Kaep is a distraction, but so are lots of players who are less accomplished and talented than him, especially at the ultimate position of scarcity....which smells a bit, doesn't it?
NFL: Beat your wife all you want, as long as there isn't video or an embarrassing police report, but definitely don't take a stand on social justice.
Pacman Jones was suspended for 20 or so games, traded, released, and had to go to the CFL for a year before getting another shot. I'm not seeing how the owners have been easier on him than on Kaep, who so far has simply not been signed to a $14m a year contract per his request. It stinks to high heaven. I really can't figure out why either Pete Carroll / John Schneider, Elway / whoever the new guy is or Hughjack / Sachi Brown don't pull the trigger on signing him. Especially Carroll, seeing how Kaep would be able to step into Wilson's shoes without major changes to the offense and he is better than the other back up options.
By the way, the Raiders signed Manuel over Kaep because new OC Todd Downing coached Manuel when he was the QBs coach in Buffalo. I thought the Raiders were going to sign Kaep, or at least were the most likely team to bring him in, but I was wrong.
John Lynch just said Kaepernick had a contract ready to sign, but it "fell through", implying the owner in question got cold feet. I don't think it's just that his reserve price hasn't been met.Pacman Jones was suspended for 20 or so games, traded, released, and had to go to the CFL for a year before getting another shot. It's also cowardly of fans to be hush on the likes of domestic violence, drugs/steroids, etc. GM's and owners try to put a winning product and players on the field that the fans will support. Fans supported pacman jones and even guys like big ben. There is no difference between the majority of fans and majority of owners. They won't boycott successful players. Ray Rice is the only one i've seen blackballed and he wasn't that great. It stinks to high heaven. Eh do you think he really makes them that much better than Murray did? Plus Oakland has been a net loser in free agency losing Malcolm SmithLA Tlmes' Sam Farmer thinks the Marshawn Lynch deal will get done in Oakland.
{He wants it, lives there, Reggie is friends with Schneider, etc.} Not good for Pats.
