"This jersey, that we wearing today, it doesn't say 'Red Sox'. It say 'Boston'."Clearly the jersey should say "Red Sox."
It looks like he's guest starring in a California Raisins commercial.Ortiz bobblehead night (today) was canceled. I wonder why...
Yeah, I went to game in June against the MFY and he hit his 3rd HR of the season that year. He looked cooked the first 2 months. There was something going on with his Dad as well if I remember correctly, he had some illness and was being treated in Boston. I think that came out after he started hitting again, but I am sure the wrist was a factor as well.2009 was his slow start. Never totally recovered from it. His wrist was probably not 100% healthy in 2009.
.
Unheard of.Who would have predicted his 2011-2016 seasons at age 27-32 (153 OPS+) would actually be better than 2003-2008 (152 OPS+) at age 35-40. That has to be unheard of

X-Rays will just rule out a fracture I think. Will need a MRI or CAT to diagnose a bone bruise and I believe you have wait a couple of days for that (not a doc)Pete Abraham @PeteAbe 46s46 seconds ago
Ortiz taken for x-rays. No results announced yet. It's his shin... Betts doubtful for tomorrow. Gradual soreness
Negative? Why?! Why?! Why?!Pete Abraham @PeteAbe 14s14 seconds ago
Initial x-rays are negative for Ortiz

Dombrowski was in a good mood in clubhouse, said Ortiz doing much better.
Yeah, maybe I should have said "confirm" a fracture. Like I said, not a doc.X-rays won't always rule out a non- displaced fracture. Didn't Ellsbury have rib fractures missed on X-ray? Sometimes you need to confirm a fracture on CT or Mr imaging. Unfortunately I see fractures missed on X-ray all too often.

(Trauma neuroradiologist by the way)
It was a flashback from an earlier piece when Sam worked for NESN. Carving station days. They clipped it for a current piece on Papi and food.Just saw Ortiz wearing a SoSH t-shirt on nesn
Or second to last.Yes. See last post in game thread for context
Even more amazing when you consider how the man runs.In that 1960 season (where Ted finished a respectable 13th in MVP) he had 15 doubles. Ortiz has 46 with 2+ weeks to go
He'd be over 50 easily if he could actually run.Even more amazing when you consider how the man runs.
Actually I wonder how many triples he might have had if he could run. Well not really, but kinda' sorta'.He'd be over 50 easily if he could actually run.
The Tampa Bay Devil Rays don't believe Ortiz is worthy of any special ceremony.
Yes, the Devil Rays name still fits that organization.
Turns out a bush league team wearing Maddon's lipstick for a half-decade still makes you a bush league team. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays don't believe Ortiz is worthy of any special ceremony.
Yes, the Devil Rays name still fits that organization.
Yes and yesDid the Rays honor Jeter on his farewell tour? Mo?
If not, perhaps it's just an organizational policy to not take part in these farewell tour farces. If so, then they look petty and, well, Rays like.
